EXERCSE FOR PREGNANT WOMEN

Physical activity during pregnancy is crucial not only for a woman’s physical health but also for her mental health. Regular exercise can help maintain good health throughout pregnancy and even improve the birth process and recovery afterwards.

Exercise helps a woman to recover more quickly after giving birth. Strong muscles, flexible joints and better physical condition make it easier to return to everyday activities and caring for the baby.

Pregnancy is a special time, and the right kind of physical activity can help a woman get through it in the healthiest and most positive way possible.

Workout duration: 60 min.

WHY S SPORT DURING PREGNANCY SO IMPORTANT?

  • Physical activity strengthens the heart and improves blood circulation, which is especially important as blood volume increases during pregnancy. This helps the woman’s body to better oxygenate both herself and the foetus, thus reducing fatigue and promoting overall energy.
  • During pregnancy, as the abdomen grows and the centre of gravity changes, most women begin to experience back pain. Sport, especially strengthening muscles and increasing flexibility, helps to maintain correct posture, reduce back tension and relieve pain.
  • Exercise helps to reduce anxiety, improves blood circulation and can help you fall asleep more easily and get a better quality sleep.
  • Exercise stimulates the release of endorphins, the ‘happiness hormones’, which improves mood, helps reduce symptoms of depression and reduces emotional tension
  • Regular exercise strengthens muscles, which directly contributes to the stamina needed during labour. Strong abdominal, back and pelvic muscles help to push more easily during labour and facilitate the birth process.
